This photo, taken on Pearl St. Mall in Boulder over the 4th of July holiday, perfectly captures Riley’s spirit. At first Riley thought the pig was real. Then he rode it.
This morning’s scenario:
Riley likes to take a specific chew, place it about a foot in front of him and then shrilly bark at it, an activity unappreciated by me or my condo neighbors here.
I took the chew away from him several times. Each time he went looking and figured out how to find it. He jumps really well.
Then I placed it on my desk, too high to jump.
A few minutes later, I saw Riley also sitting on my desk, chew in mouth.
He had jumped on the swivel desk chair, spun it around and jumped up on the desk.
So it’s true. You don’t ever get the dog you want, but you DO get the one you need.
