Kisses, green beer and St. Patrick

March 17, 2014

free-st-patricks-day-wallpaper-3Yeah, you thought today was just about green beer and shamrocks, right?

Well, it’s also about gratitude and blessings.

Because St. Paddy? (no, it’s not Patty, it’s Paddy)

He had a lot to be grateful for. Captured and taken into slavery by the Irish as a child, he finally escaped after six years. His calling, he believed, was to bring Christianity to Ireland.

He did, too: 300+ churches and 100,00 baptised.

Bet you didn’t know all that.

Now, go out, drink some green beer and kiss an Irishman.  Tell him Carol sent you.

Will do, Carol. On my way. Apparently the lineups started outside the pubs here before 8 a.m. Now that’s dedication!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m happy to drink a pint today! And thanks for the Irish education…I didn’t know much about St. Patrick. (I am a wee bit Irish…but only about 10 %.)

Yeah, this stuff was news to me, too!

    Done! And thank you! 🙂

  5. I just learned about the “Paddy” thing today. Then I took my son to buy a green shirt.

Informative and very interesting. It reminds me the line: “No matter how bad is your present but a great future can be yours. ”
Thanks for writing on such beautiful things.
