Try this Navajo blessing to spread more love

May 16, 2018 By Carol Cassara 16 Comments

blessingI know. Our image of Native Americans is not what this Navajo blessing depicts, but of bloodthirsty savages. Well, not so fast with those stereotypes.

Man has always had its warrior class, usually to defend and protect people or land. Native Americans are no different in that respect.

But in other respects, indigenous people were very different. They were in touch not with religious dogma, but with spirituality, as this Navajo blessing makes clear. And the spirituality of nature.

I love this blessing and am sharing it today to help promote harmony in love in a world in which there’s too little of both. If only we COULD walk in harmony with God and all people. Can we?

Let’s all say this blessing today and put that out in the world.

This is beautifully said. Never read anything like it before. So much to learn from the native American cultures and beliefs.

I just love this blessing. I never thought of Native Americans as savages. They were here first. We were disrespecting their land. I’d be pissed too 😉

I’ve never thought of them as savages. We came here and took their land, I think I’d probably respond the same way. That is a beautiful blessing!

Harmony with God and all people is what we need all the time now and especially the violence is becoming a normal thing now here in the US. My heart was saddened by another school mass killing again yesterday in Texas. 🙁
