How to let go of self-doubt

January 10, 2018

self-doubtSelf-doubt is a killer of dreams.

It keeps us from following our passion and from fulfilling our purpose.

And yet, it’s so common. Many, many people doubt themselves. Second-guess. And third-guess.

So here are a few steps to help you let go of any self-doubt:

What’s your inspiration?

Follow it. If you’ve got an intuitive feel that you should be doing something, then go after it. Intuition is often the subconscious speaking and you’d be surprised at how wise it is. If you think your inspirational idea is too hard, start by breaking it into smaller, more actionable steps. Take it one step at a time and see what happens.

My inspiration was A Healing Spirit. And yes, parts of this have been hard, especially since I came out of retirement to do it. But I’ve taken it slowly, in manageable bites and that has made all the difference. I’ve also managed the scope of what I do to make it in keeping with my stage of life and the time I’m willing to put into it. I don’t have to do everything in my area of expertise. Just my small part. I’m pretty good at figuring out what steps are actionable and manageable. And that makes it much easier.

You’re not alone.

Understand that your life is part of a bigger plan–for you and for the world. You have something to contribute and it’s a God-given gift. So let go of the sense that you’re out there alone. You’re being divinely guided. It’s up to you to decide if you’d like to follow that or not.

Trust yourself.

Trust yourself to know what you’re supposed to be doing with your life. Trust that you know how to prepare for it. It’s all inside you just waiting for you to access it. I learned a long time ago how to dig in and find it. And I’m willing to share with you!

Still feel stuck?

Maybe a couple of these sessions could help you blast through any last remaining obstacles, including self-doubt. Don’t let self-doubt kill your dreams when a few sessions might ignite them.

Why not check them out?

Trusting myself enough to step out of my comfort zone and move beyond my fears was my biggest challenge when I decided to quit my job to build an anti-stress lifestyle. I have less income now, but I’ve never been happier!

Intuition is so important, but self-doubt can turn it off. I’ve learned this the hard way, but am better about pressing on despite the doubt.

  6. A beautiful, inspiring, informative post. Thank you this is just what I needed!

    Hi, Carol.

I have a bag full of self-doubt that I carry with me every day. I know. But what get’s me through tough days are prayers, a lot of them.
